The motto of this year’s conference – “University of the Future – Impact-Based Leadership” – emphasized the role of the university in knowledge creation, societal development and sustainable solutions.
On April 16, 2026, Professors Inguna Skadiņa and Normunds Grūzītis presented the main results and future plans of the Language Technology Initiative. Looking back on what has been achieved since 2023, we can be proud that we have achieved the set goals:
- Train at least 820 students and professionals;
- Develop at least 5 study modules (at least 9 ECTS each);
- Train at least 12 young professionals who can teach language technologies in universities;
- Develop at least 10 scientific publications (Q2 or ACL Anthology).
However, we are happy about all the achievements that are not included in these goals, including participation in various important projects, such as Balsutalka.lv and the “Tilde” learning platform!
